Shayna Davis, Design Assistant

I am a true Florida native! I have lived my entire life in South Florida….Jupiter to be exact. Being born and raised in such a beautiful place has always influenced and stimulated my creativity. Growing up, my twin sister and I spent just about every free moment at the beach which became and remains an inspiration for me. Throughout my teen years, I took countless photographs of the coastline, landmarks and even simple nature photographs. I always knew that I wanted a career in a field that was creative and that enriched the environment around me. I lost count of how many times I redesigned my childhood bedroom. From paint to re-purposed furniture from places like Goodwill, my mother never knew exactly what she would see when she returned home from work. When my family and friends started to comment on my design style, I felt that I had found my true calling in life. I have come a long way from my days of being inspired by Shabby Chic to earning my Interior Design Degree from Palm Beach State College and having the opportunity to work on modern, large-scale projects that display a multitude of different aesthetics. My passion for design continues to grow and evolve. Quick. Word association.

What words describe you? Twin, Blonde, loyal, art obsessed, sufferer of the hangries, little sister, local, animal lover, determined, accepting, blue eyed, creative.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? I love doing anything that has to do with the water from going to the beach or spending the day on the boat but if I had to choose, I would rather spend a day that involves art. This past summer I was in LA for only about 24 hours, I spent the entire day going to different art exhibits and museums like LACMA and to some other lesser known artistic attractions like the Mosaic House in Venice Beach…(if you’re ever in the area I highly recommend it, it’s an house that two artists completely covered in mosaic tile, it’s by appointment only but that didn’t stop me)…at the end of the day I was exhausted but it was one of the most enjoyable days I’ve ever had.

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? Definitely my long-haired Chihuahua, Bella, possibly my boyfriend… and an endless supply of Thai food.
